Before leaving La Gomera we felt like a doing a short hike nearby in the morning after breakfast. We found this point to point hike to Roque Jaragán to where we could walk straight from the hotel in San Sebastian.
The first part of the trail runs along the highest street of San Sebastian, Calle de la Orilla del Llano. From the pedestrian area you have quite an ascent to get to the street. Less if you stay at the Parador de La Gomera. Then you just walk through the gates and continue straight forward.
After 2,5 kilometres you reach a roundabout and from there you leave the road and walk along a trail. At first the trail follows a small road until you pass by a few houses.
From then trail windles upwards through a beautiful canyon with cactuses and low vegetation.
Approaching the top of Jaragán there is less and less vegetation. The top is actually quite flat with views of Teide and the northern parts of La Gomera.
You then walk the same way back.
