Barcelona and Costa Brava

Barcelona and Costa Brava

Catalonia stretches from south of Tarragona, where the river Ebro flows into the Mediterranian, to the French border along the Pyrenees in the north. With cities like like Barcelona, a coast line like Costa Brava, small lovely white villages like Figueres, Tossa de Mar and Calella de Palafrugell you can easily spend a month travelling around in Catalonia. This region is also is the birth place of the Spanish sparkling wine cava.

With Barcelona as your starting point you can reach most destinations within a 2 hours drive. Combining a few days in the Pyrenees with some days along Costa Brava and Barcelona is the perfect round trip.

Barcelona is an all year destination. Since it is crowded with tourists in the summer it might be a good thing consider going there early spring or late autumn. Costa Brava is more of a summer destination as well as hiking in the Pyrenées.

The Font Romeau Nature Trail Run is a fantastic trail running race! If you have heard about Kilian´s Classic, this is the one! Choose between the Carlit marathon of 42 kilometres with an ascent of 2300 metres and the Trail des Lacs of 25 kilometres...
