Rakssetra is one of those farms, or seter in Norewegian, where farmers used to bring their cows, goats and sheep for grazing during summertime. This picturesque farm is idyllically located at Årheimsfjellet at an altitude of 540 meters which brings amazing views of Innvikfjorden and the villages Olden and Loen below. Thanks to the grazing of the farmers´ anmals the landscape is still open.

The hike starts right by a quite large parking (NOK 75 a day) where you also find information about the hike. The hike is marked Rakssetra and it is easy to find the way from the parking.

The first part of the hike is quite steep with an elevation of 250 metres in 1,5 kilometres and takes you through a forest before reaching the more open landscape that surrounds the farm.

When reaching the farm it is really nice to just sit down and take in the magnificient views of the landscape. A lot of people take pictures by a large stone situated between two of the small houses.
