The hike to Estany Blau
The first part of the hike runs through a beautiful forest along the river Rialb. After a while the Rialb Valley opens up with lovely views of the surrounding mountains.
The path is very well signed and you pass by the refugi de Rialb (Rialb mountain hut) on your way.
After the refugi, you have an ascent for couple of hundred metres until you reach the ridge - Port de Siguer.
Passing the ridge gives you a lovely airy view of the Estany Blau (the blue lake). This is a perfect place for a lunch break before going back the same way. You can fill up water all along the way in the streams.
From Estany Blau you also have the option to do a longer hike (21 kilometres) walking aroundthe lake and then follow the ridge back.
How to get to Sorteny Valley?
The main road CG-2 runs all through Andorra. From CG-2 drive to Ordino on CG-3. After passing by Ordino continue along CG-3 to El Serrat.
After El Serrat turn right on C3-370 along Ctra. de Sorteny and continue on the road until you see a sign for the national park Sorteny and reach a large parking (free of charge).
