How to get to Storronden?
Driving from Oslo, just before arriving in Otta, follow the signs turning right to Mysuseter. Follow the windling road upwards, passing the little center of Mysuseter.
Turn left and continue on the road until you see a toll station (100 NOK by credit card). Follow the road up and up until you reach a rather large parking at the so called Spranget. From Spranget to Rondvassbu you can either walk or rent a bike unless you have a bike of your own. It is about 5 kilometres from Spranget to Rondvassbu.
The hike starts in Rondvassbu, a lovely mountain hut. You an also camp by Rondvassbu or sleep at the hut.
The hike is well signed and starts with a rather steep ascent that actually continues all the way up. Hiking boots is strongly recomended since there are some tricky parts half way up passing larger stones. There is no water supply on the way so fill your bottles before leaving Rondvassbu.
When reaching the top you have a magnificient view of the surrounding landscape. It was rainy and foggy on the day we visited so it more gave the feeling of being part of the movie Lord of the Rings.
